Thought for the Week – Getting Things Wrong

I had one of those days yesterday, where I realised I had messed up. Missed some things I had committed to doing, and just generally felt like I was letting down the people around me. I’m not asking anyone to feel sorry for me – I did enough of that for myself yesterday – and I know that many of my friends are facing much bigger problems than I am. I guess what I am interested in is what I can learn from this (and how I can mess up less in the future). (more…)


Thought for the Week – Gaining Inner Strength

If you’re a regular reader, you might now that my husbad and I are following the 5:2 Intermittent Fasting eating programme which was featured on the Horizon television programme last year. I have been reading the book which follows up on the TV programme, The Fast Diet by Dr Michael Mosley and Mimi Spencer, and this bit of thinking comes out of something I read in there.

We know that exercise builds muscle, and apparently this happens because the muscle is damaged, which prompts the body to build more muscle so we become stronger. (more…)
